Frances Diekman
Frances "Winndie" Diekman, 65, of Platteville, formerly of Longmont, died Monday, Feb. 28, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit in Greeley.
She was born Oct. 9, 1939, in Henderson to Edward and Frances (Gangl) Obrecht.
On Sept. 21, 1958, she married Thomas D. Diekman in Longmont.
Mrs. Diekman was a homemaker and a professional seamstress, making wedding dresses, prom dresses and bridesmaid dresses. She served on the Town Council for the town of Platteville and was a representative of children for the Panther Express. In 1977, she helped start the Scouting program for disabled children in Longmont. She loved to travel, fish, paint and take pictures of wildlife. She also grew cultured roses. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Survivors are her husband, Thomas of Platteville; her mother, Frances Obrecht of Longmont; two daughters, Christeena Harris and husband Tony of San Antonio, and Eva Maurer of Longmont; a son, Skip Diekman and wife Michelle of Longmont; two sisters, Arlene "Tiny" Ahlgrim and husband Otto of Longmont and Marilyn Holsclaw of Greeley; two brothers, Butch Obrecht and wife Lil of Loveland and Ron Obrecht of Longmont; five grandchildren, Tabitha Barteck and Nathasha Barteck, both of Texas, Heather Maurer of Colorado Springs, and Thomas Diekman and Christopher Diekman, both of Longmont; three stepgrandchildren, Shawn Harris, Jennifer Harris and Megan Harris; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father and a son Carl D. Diekman.
Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4th and Collyer, Longmont. Interment will be in Foothills Gardens of Memory, Longmont.
Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. today with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel.

Dora Gallegos
Dora Marie Gallegos, 73, of Pierce died Monday, Feb. 28, at North Colorado Medical Center, Greeley.
She was born July 3, 1931, in Brighton to Enriquez and Amalia (Muniz) Garcia.
On April 4, 1954, she married Phillip Gallegos in Greeley.
Mrs. Gallegos was raised in Trinidad and moved to the Boulder area before coming to Greeley in the 1940s. She finished high school in Pierce and attended Aims Community College. She works as a PBX operator at Weld County General Hospital and then worked with BOCES as an advocate for 18 years, getting migrant children enrolled in school. She retired in 1989.
Mrs. Gallegos was a member of St. Mary's Mission of Ault. She also was a member and past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 4334. She loved to play bingo, watch her grandchildren's sport activities, make crafts and write and spend time with her family.
Survivors are her husband, Phillip Gallegos of Pierce; two daughters and their husbands, Anita and Mark Duran and Debbie and Kenneth Martinez, all of Greeley; four sons, Philip Gallegos of Ault, Ed Gallegos and wife Kathy of Greeley and Joe Gallegos and wife Peggy of Pierce and Eugene Gallegos, all of Pierce; three sisters, Theresa Romero and husband Joe of Broomfield, Bernice Daughenbaugh of Boulder and Gloria Hilton of Longmont; a brother, Louie Garcia of Lafayette; 21 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Her parents, brothers and sisters are deceased.
Recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Mission in Ault. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, also at St. Mary's Mission. Interment will be in the Ault Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday at the Allnutt Funeral Service Macy Chapel, Greeley.

W. Burgess Joyner
W. Burgess Joyner, 95, of Boulder, formerly of Greeley, died Saturday, Feb. 26, at Boulder Community Hospital.
He was born Oct. 11, 1909, in Eaton, and lived most of his life in Greeley.
Mr. Joyner attended Greeley schools and obtained his degree and teaching certificate from what is now the University of Northern Colorado. He eventually followed his father, W.W. Joyner, into a real estate brokerage and insurance business. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, in 1997.
Survivors are a daughter, Linda Joyner Trittipo of Wilmette, Ill.; three sons, Burgess Joyner Jr. of Spokane, Wash., Dawson Joyner of Boulder and Brian Joyner of Westminster; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family has honored his request that no services be held.
Crist Mortuary in Boulder was in charge of arrangements.
Almeada Neergaard
Almeada Fay Neergaard, 93, of Fort Collins died Friday, Feb. 25, at Poudre Valley Hospital, Fort Collins.
She was born Nov. 25, 1911, in Barnes Township, Kan., to John Anderson and Maude Belle (Pomeroy) Mapes.
On June 11, 1928, she married Carl Neergaard in Fort Collins. He died Aug. 28, 1988.
Mrs. Neergaard came to Colorado at a young age. She and her husband farmed in the Greeley and Wellington areas. She also worked at Poudre Valley Hospital for 12 years. When they retired, they moved to the Rist Canyon area. Later they moved to their home in Fort Collins.
Mrs. Neergaard liked to garden both flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed canning and was an excellent cook and baker. A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, she loved the time spent with all her family.
She was reared in the Methodist faith.
Survivors are a daughter, Laura Brewer of Fort Collins; a son and daughter in-law, Kenneth and Marian Neergaard of Rist Canyon; a daughter-in-law, Martha Neergaard of Longmont; three sisters, Neva Morganstern of Layton, Utah, Alma Amey of Fort Collins and Ruth Parker of Litilz, Pa.; a brother, Johnny Mapes, also of Fort Collins; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son Jack and a grandson Russell Brewer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Adamson Memorial West Chapel, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley.

Miriam West
Miriam Florence West, 96, of Greeley, died Monday, Feb. 28, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit, Greeley.
She was born Oct. 11, 1908, in Eaton to Ernest Hjalmer and Edla Mathilda (Johanson) West.
Miss West received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Colorado State Teachers College, now the University of Northern Colorado, in Greeley. She taught for 14 years in Louisville, then moved to Cheyenne in 1944 and taught there until she retired in 1973.
While in Wyoming, she was an active member and life member of the Cheyenne Mineral and Gem Society and the Cheyenne Woman's Club. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the women's association and circles.
Miss West moved to Greeley from Cheyenne in 1987. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Greeley and the Weld County Historical Society.
Survivors are two nephews, five nieces and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel at Bonell Good Samaritan Center, Greeley.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Bonell Good Samaritan Center, Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado, or to a charity of choice. There will be no reception after the service.
Northern Colorado Crematory in Greeley is in charge of arrangements.
Rose Sanchez
Rose Sanchez, 76, of Greeley died Sunday, Feb. 27, at North Colorado Medical Center, Greeley.
She was born Feb. 14, 1929, in Trinidad to Elie and Carmen Torrez.
In 1941, she married Jose Sanchez in Greeley.
Mrs. Sanchez was very loving and caring. She gave her heart to everyone who needed her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, movies, cooking and making tortillas.
Survivors are three daughters, Kathlene Gomez and husband Billy of Texas, Linda Sanchez of Iowa and Barbara J. Garcia of Greeley; three sons, Joe Sanchez, Lonnie Sanchez and Leo Sanchez, all of Greeley; two sisters, Helen Padilla and husband Bennie of Greeley and Josie Sandoval and husband John of Milliken; a brother, Benny Torres and wife Mary of Greeley; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Lisa Sanchez, and brother Albert Torres.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Linn Grove Cemetery, Greeley.

Barbara White
Barbara Ann White, 53, of Evans died Monday, Feb. 28, at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit, Greeley.
She was born Nov. 19, 1951, in Greeley to Benjamin Franklin Fawver and Dorothy Jane Dowling-Fawver.
In 1969, she married Roger Dale White.
Mrs. White graduated from Valley High School in Gilcrest in 1970. She was employed at Hewlett-Packard as an Agilent technologist in Loveland. In September 2004 she attended Aims Community College studying medical administration.
Mrs. White enjoyed her family gatherings, gardening, craft work and cake decorating. She also enjoyed camping, walking and hiking with her dog, Frosty.
Survivors are her husband, Roger White of Evans; four sisters, Judy Conley and husband Cloyd Conley Jr. and JoAnn Cook and husband Don Cook Jr., all of Greeley; and Mary Palmer and Diana Allison and husband Barry, all of Denver; a brother, Michael Fawver of La Salle; a brother-in-law, Rodney White and wife Kathy of Greeley; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law, Dale White, and mother-in-law, Helen White; a brother-in-law, James Palmer; sister-in-law, Martha Fawver; and a nephew, Daniel Noreen.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Greeley Christian Church, 3451 23rd Ave., Evans. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley.
Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Stoddard Funeral Home.
