Tribune 'Going Home' series wins Inland Press award

The Greeley Tribune has won a first place award from the Inland Press Association for "Going Home," a series about a trip taken by Tribune reporter Millete Birhanemaskel with her father back to their native Ethiopia.

The Tribune's series was published in July.

Birhanemaskel, Tribune photographer Darin McGregor who accompanied her, and editors Kelly Ann Tracer and Kristen Wright won the award in the personality/individual profile stories category for newspapers with a circulation of 25,001-75,000. Second place went to the Telegraph Herald of Dubuque, Iowa, and third to the Journal Gazette of Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Tribune also won a second place for front page design in the same circulation division.
