Help UNC fraternity fight diabetes: Enter Saturday's golf tournament
As you may know, diabetes affects numerous people each year; whether they have the disease or not. I personally lost my grandmother to diabetes, and another member of my fraternity lost his mother.
Tee It Up and the Delta Tau Delta fraternity have decided to put on a diabetes awareness golf tournament. Tee It Up and Delta Tau Delta fraternity will be donating all proceeds to the American Diabetes Association.
Tee It Up For Diabetes will take place from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at The Mad Russian Golf Course, 2100 Country Club Parkway in Milliken.
Companies around the area will be sponsoring the tournament: Texas Roadhouse, GoJo Sports, Abo's Pizza, Qdoba, Big City Burrito, Gray Oil, ADA-EF Environmental Solutions, Flood and Peterson Insurance, Hiccups Bar and Grill, Budweiser, Carol Lynn's Flowers, the Billie Joe Foundation and a few others.
Cost per person will be $55 ($220/ team) and includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart and goodie bags. The tournament will include hole competitions -- longest drive, longest putt, closest to the pin, etc. -- along with a few other fun games, such as a "play like Tiger Woods hole" and longest club-throw competition. Prizes include trophies, free entrees and dinners for two courtesy of Texas Roadhouse, free pizza courtesy of Abo's Pizza, golf bags and more.

Thank you for taking the time to spread the word about diabetes.
