Heiman Elementary will open as planned on Wednesday

Print Comment
Ann K. Heiman Elementary School will open on Wednesday as planned despite a small fire on Saturday evening.

John Gates, head of security and safety for Greeley-Evans School District 6, toured the school on Sunday morning.

"Everything's finer," Gates said. "There's no damage, no odor. We'll be ready to go on Wednesday."

Union Colony Fire/Rescue Authority responded at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday to the school, 3500 Palermo Ave. in Evans. Firefighters found smoke in the hallway but no active fire. The original call stemmed from a small electrical fire.
