Sutherland to speak at UNC

Thomas Sutherland will speak about the Middle East at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the University of Northern Colorado's University Center ballrooms, intersection of 10th Avenue and 20th Street. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Sutherland will share his experience being held hostage for six years in Lebanon, the insights he gained from his time in captivity and his perspective on world affairs as they relate to the Middle East today.

The lecture coincides with the UNC International Film Series' fall screenings of "The Syrian Bride" and "Paradise Now," two films that address culture and politics in the Middle East.
