Little Owl seeks affordable education, health care

Print Comment
His family roots in the American West probably run deeper than yours or mine. Proud of his heritage in the Crow Native American Nation, he is also proud to have served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps.

His name is Solomon Little Owl, and he is the Democratic candidate for state Senate District 13.

As director of Native American Student Services at the University of Northern Colorado, he believes that comprehensive education deserves better funding, and that health care should be affordable and accessible for all Coloradans.

Little Owl will be a terrific voice for all of us.

Sylvia De La Fuente, La Salle

MIKE DUGAN, DEMOCRAT

Dugan is dedicated to our individual liberties

Mike Dugan believes in government that is efficient and dedicated to the individual liberties guaranteed by the Constitution.

A Greeley resident for 45 years and a graduate of Greeley West High School, he still abides by the code of honor he learned at West Point: "honor, duty, country." He is a family man who wants to ensure that all families have good schools and good jobs.

As a lawyer, businessman and community volunteer, Dugan knows hard work. He, also, knows that we can always do better. He will serve us well in the Colorado House of Representatives.

Kathy Christmann, Greeley

SHARON SOCHER, INDEPENDENT

Socher wants to protect property rights and water

Sharon Socher and family are the best to represent District 2 of the Weld County Board of Commissioners. She'll work hard for all personal property rights, water for agriculture, education for all children, proper development of our community for each individual -- farm, home, church, school and businesses.

This lady means to work for the Weld residents to establish a better lifestyle for all as a Weld commissioner. Please vote!

John Noerenberg, Greeley

Socher knows county, towns must work together

I'm giving my support to Sharon Socher for Weld County commissioner, District 2.

Socher will bring a fresh and independent voice to the commission. Socher supports our economic growth and progress, but, unlike other candidates, Socher has the education and vision to perceive that municipalities and the county must coordinate growth or it will result in severe negative impacts on our quality of life and ability to maximize tax dollars.

I've seen Socher campaigning at shopping centers and neighborhoods and marching in a rainy parade. That's the kind of determination and hard work we need from our county commission representative.
