Tancredo statement on Swift & Co. raids

4:16 p.m. update: U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., said of this morning’s raid on six Swift & Co. processing plants in search of illegal aliens accused of identity theft:

“I congratulate all law enforcement agencies involved in the successful raid,” said Tancredo, Chairman of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus.  “My hope at this point is that the U.S. government has the courage to prosecute the Swift & Company executives who may have been complicit in their hiring.”
 
Tancredo concluded with, “When something of this scale happens, it’s pretty likely that the plant managers were aware of it, often with the consent of management.”
