This weekend, area residents can learn what their elected leaders have been up to for the past four months.
State Rep. Jim Riesberg, D-Greeley, will host a community forum Saturday to review the accomplishments of the first session of 66th Colorado General Assembly, which ended last Friday.
Although lawmakers will no longer be in the Capitol every day, their work is not yet done. New bills are due by the middle of December, and lawmakers will work through the summer on various committees.
Riesberg said he wants to hear residents' ideas for new legislation, and he will provide handouts for people to become familiar with the issues.
Light refreshments also will be served and residents are invited and encouraged to attend.
The forum is from 9-10:30 a.m., in the Council Chambers of the Evans City Complex, 1100 37th St., in Evans.
