I found a curbside treasure

Print Comment
I found a treasure the other day - a wooden two-seat glider bench.

It was placed on the side of the road, waiting for someone to pick it up. So I did.

Now, I don't make a habit of digging into people's trash, but I will stop if I find something I could use.

This glider bench is perfect. There wasn't anything wrong with it except that it looked like it had been sitting in the sun for many years.

The paint was chipped, faded or completely gone in some places, but that didn't matter.

It definitely was a home project waiting to happen.

My husband and son spent all weekend working on that bench.

First they scraped the old paint off. Then they primed the wood, over and over. Once the white coat of paint was added, the bench came to life. It was beautiful.

The piece of someone's trash has turned into an amazing piece in my front yard.

My husband and son had a great time working on it together, and it will forever be a conversation piece for me to enjoy.

Thank you to whoever decided it was time to recycle the swing. You'll be happy to know it was treated with some TLC and went to a good home.

Finding a hidden treasure is always fun for me, and I know I'm not alone.

What kind of treasures have you found?
