Two Weld County 4-H members sold reserve champion livestock at the Colorado State Fair Tuesday evening.
Tanner Anderson of Eaton had the reserve grand champion steer which sold for $13,000 to Sam Brown and Family. Ryan Throckmorton of La Salle had the reserve champion market goat which brought $1,900 from TIC of Centennial. The 2007 Colorado State Fair Junior Livestock Sale presented by Touchstone Energy Cooperatives drew in $412,950 for Colorado’s 4-H and FFA youth. The event is possible only through the generosity of buyer groups and sponsors.
Lisa Reid of Brighton took grand champion market beef. Denver Rustlers purchased animal for $50,000. The grand champion market hog shown by Trey Morris of Meeker and was bought by the Pigskin Buckaroos for $30,000. Reserve grand champion was shown by Mitchell Peterson of Sanford and purchased by Pigskin Buckaroos, for $10,000. Kelly Knight of Longmont took grand champion market Lamb purchased by Sam Brown and Family for $18,000. Pigskin Buckaroos purchased the Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb shown by Jacob Barker of Pueblo for $5,000. The grand champion market goat shown by Shelby Teague of Fort Morgan was purchased by Denver Rustlers for $3,800.
