Print Comment
Michael J. Kimball, the Robert O. Schulze Chair for 2007-08, will present his inaugural Schulze lecture at 5 p.m. Sept. 20 in the Panorama Room at University Center at the University of Northern Colorado.

Kimball, an associate professor of anthropology and sociology at the University of Maine-Machias, will speak on "Recovering Empathy Adventures in Service-Learning & Civic Engagement." The presentation is free and a reception will follow.

Kimball has won awards for his efforts to infuse service-learning and civic engagement into his teaching, scholarship and service.

As Schulze Chair, Kimball is also teaching a course for UNC's Life of the Mind Program.

The Schulze Chair lecture series is named after Robert O. Schulze, a longtime former UNC dean and professor of sociology who helped start the Life of Mind Program, an interdisciplinary general education program.
