Nu-Way Cleaners is sponsoring the Coats for Folks drive for the second year, through which it will collect used coats from the community.

The drive started this month and will run through November. Nu-Way Owner Jim Nixon said he hopes to collect 1,000 more coats this year through his locations throughout northern Colorado.

"We collected 1,500 last year and we're shooting for 2,500 this year," said Nixon. "You don't have to be a customer to donate, and you can donate at any time, any store."

Nixon's stores clean all of the coats and distribute them to nonprofit and charitable agencies.

Several northern Colorado nonprofit agencies will benefit from the donated coats, including the Greeley Interfaith Clothing Bank and the Transitional House, as well as the House of Neighborly Service in Loveland, and three nonprofits in Fort Collins: First United Methodist Church in Windsor, and Chris Center Community Outreach Center, Mary's Close and Open Door Mission in Fort Collins.

Gently-used coats and jackets can be brought to Nu-Way locations at Centerplace, Fox Run, University Square, Bittersweet Plaza, Westlake Village or Garden City. Also, Foothills Cleaners in Windsor, Johnstown, Loveland and Fort Collins will participate in the collection and distribution of coats for their own communities.

The Coats for Folks Drive will run through Nov. 30. For store locations, further information and updates, go to www.thecleaners.net.
