Couple to lead church services

LOVELAND

Charlie and Jill LeBlanc will lead worship services at 6 p.m. today, and 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Resurrection Fellowship.

The LeBlancs will be ministering with the Rez worship team at all services this weekend. Former worship leaders for Joyce Meyer Ministries for almost seven years, they now lead worship for Andrew Wommack Ministries along with singing in churches around the world. The LeBlancs have been involved in recording more than a dozen CDs including their newest release titled "Live in Nashville."

« 'Just What Do We Really Believe Anyway?'

GREELEY

Creative Living Church, A Center for Spiritual Living, will host an open house at its 9 a.m. service Sunday. The church's interim spiritual leader, Barbara Bue, will talk on "Just What Do We Really Believe Anyway?"

The open house is an opportunity to clarify thoughts about the church's basic beliefs and meet like-minded people. Goodies will be shared after the service.

Bue is pursuing her master's degree in consciousness studies at Holmes Institute. She combines a passion for learning with a desire both to improve the world and inspire others to do the same. She is curious about the inner workings of the universe and the way people relate to each other. She finds inspiration in everything from children's books to Rumi and everyday life. Bue believes there is a divine spark in everyone.

Sadhana practice


GREELEY

Drong Ngur Prairie Sangha, Drikung Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, will present Padmasanbhava Teachings, Empowerment and Sadhana practice by Ven. Ontul Rinpoche on Monday and Tuesday at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 929 15th St., Greeley.

Lho Ontul Rinpoche is one of the senior lineage masters of the Drikung Mahamudra and Dzogchen lineage and an incarnation of one of the 25 original disciples of Padmasambhava.

Teaching will be from 1-4 p.m. Monday for a suggested donation of $20. Empowerment will be from 7-9 p.m. Monday for a suggested donation of $35.

Sadhana Practice sessions will be from 1-4 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m. for a suggested donation of $20 each.

Empowerment and Sadhana Practices will take place without a translator, and no one will be turned away for nonpayment.

« Trinity Lutheran to have guest speaker

GREELEY

Trinity Lutheran Guild will have Theresa Jacobsmeyer as a special guest speaker. Jacobsmeyer will provide a presentation on the Orphan Grain Train at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Ave., Greeley. All women of Trinity Lutheran Church are invited to attend.

« Church to celebrate 100 years of service

PIERCE

First United Methodist Church of Pierce, 429 Third St., will celebrate 100 years of serving the community as a congregation on Sunday. The theme for the celebration is "The Rainbow: God's Promise from the Past for the Future." The Rev. Eric Smith will deliver the message during the worship hour. David Cozad, Jim Feickert and the Luke Ham Sandwich Band will provide special music for the services.

After worship, there will be a meal and the Luke Ham Sandwich Band will perform.

At 3:30 p.m., the youth in middle school and high school will leave for the sub-district event in Windsor.

WINDSOR

An installation celebration for Pastor Paul and Glenda Veliquette will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the Windsor Assembly of God, 8075 Weld County Road 72, Windsor. Guest speakers will be Dr. and Mrs. Robert Cook, Rocky Mountain district superintendent. The Rev. and Mrs. Robert Cowles of Timberline Church will be special guests. «Church to have All Church Bazaar

GREELEY

St. Paul's Congregational Church All Church Bazaar will start at 9 a.m. Oct. 6 at the church, 1525 43rd Ave., Greeley. The bazaar will feature noodles, butterballs, breads, coffee cakes, angel food cakes, pies and a variety of foods and crafts. Coffee and desserts will be available.

«CROP/Hunger walk on Oct. 6

GREELEY

The Greeley CROP/Hunger Walk is scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 6. The activity, through Church World Service, generates funds that respond to needs caused by natural and human disasters around the world and in Greeley.

The Walk begins at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1844 11th Ave., which is across the street from Glenmere Park. Maps and pledge sheets will be there or may be obtained from the churches. Food and drink will be provided for walkers.

Special guests for the Walk this year are two friends, Pisco and Bandit. They are llamas who walk because multitudes of other people must walk for all their daily needs, food, water, firewood, work, education, to seek shelter and escape violence. The llamas may be petted, they will pose for pictures and will be happy to meet all the walkers.

CROP Walk and Church World Services are involved in feeding the hungry in Weld County, in the United States and around the globe, as well as assisting in providing safe water supplies. Residents can help by working together to increase the ability of people to become self-reliant. There will be a container to receive canned goods for the Weld Food Bank.

«Adoption orientation at Christ Community

GREELEY

Adoption Information Night is from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Oct 9 at Christ Community Church, 1301 15th St., Greeley. Families who have adopted children will tell their stories and Weld County Socials Services staff will explain how to adopt foster children. Agencies also will have booths with information and staff to answer questions.

«La Salle church to celebrate 30th anniversary

LA SALLE

Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in La Salle will be celebrating its 30th anniversary next week.

The celebration begins Oct. 7 with 9:45 a.m. fellowship, followed by a 10:15 a.m. worship service, which will be followed by a catered luncheon at the church, 231 South 6th St. For more information, call (970) 284-5101.
