Setting the stage

On Oct. 25, the members of the traveling show Cirque le Masque entered the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley to prepare for their performance the following evening.

The troupe calls Long Island, New York, home -- but its members come from around the world including Cuba, Canada and the Ukraine.

The jugglers, contortionists, acrobats, clowns, mimes, aerialists and dancers familiarized themselves with the intricacies of the stage, trapeze rigging and the backstage area before running through the stage cues for their sold-out show "Carnivale."

After the following day's performance at the UCCC, the company left Greeley, traveling to Colorado Springs and Durango before heading to Los Angeles and home again to New York.
