Print Comment
Binka Le Breton, author of The Courageous Life and Martyrdom of Sister Dorothy Stang, will be at An Open Book LLC, 4689 20th St., Suite B on Feb. 9 to sign copies of her book.

Sister Stang, 73, was brutally murdered by a group of hit men in the Amazon forest of Brazil on Feb. 12, 2005. The American-born nun had threatened the sanctions that allowed land developers to slash and burn the Amazon rainforest and had championed the rights of farmers in the area.

Le Breton is the cofounder and director of the Iracambi Research Center in the Atlantic Rainforest of Brazil, which works on biodiversity and conservation, sustainability and human rights.

She will appear at An Open Book at 10 a.m., Feb. 9 and copies of her book will be available for signing.
