Workshop to help people develop better organizational skills

Print Comment
Pack-rats and those having a tough time staying organized may have a solution to their problems.

Deniece Schofield will try to help people live less-messy lives on Tuesday when she makes an appearance in Greeley from 7-9 p.m. at the Best Western Regency Hotel, 701 8th St. in Greeley.

The author of four books about home management and organization -- the most recent, "Springing the Time Trap" focusing on time management -- Schofield notes that even she was not always in tune with being organized.

"I was bad as a kid, and I got worse every year, and I hit bottom after we had our third child," Schofield said. "And I just was so overwhelmed and so discouraged and there was just never time to do anything I wanted to do and, I just thought 'I gotta figure out a better way to do this.' "

Yet, by drawing from that experience, she now tries to help people live more productive and organized lives -- a main focus of the workshop she will lead Tuesday.

"They'll really get hundreds of ideas of how to organize all the common things that we have in our homes and then the last half we're going to talk about managing time and getting rid of all the floating pieces of paper," Schofield said.
