Scholarship deadline approaching

The deadline for the 2008 Community Foundation scholarship is March 14, at 4 p.m.

The application allows Weld County students to apply for all of the Community Foundation scholarships for which they are eligible by completing just one application.

Applications are available at high school counseling offices as well as online at www.greeleyweldcomfound.org. Students may complete the application online but will need to print, sign and turn in all corresponding documents. Scholarship recipients will be notified by the end of April and awards will be made by the Community Foundation Board of Directors on May 13, at the annual Scholarship Reception.

The following scholarships are included in the 2008 Common Application: Arts Alive! Scholarships, Judd K. Fulton Memorial Scholarships, Mildred Hansen Scholarships, Lynne and Gladys Hopkins Family Scholarships, Leoma Hunter Scholarships, Alison Jenkins Memorial Scholarship, Kristopher G. Mansfield Memorial Scholarship, Carl Mason Family Agriculture Scholarship, Dr. John A. and Patricia C. Rosales Memorial Scholarship, Lynn Shipps Scholarship, Marvin Stonemets Scholarship, Weld County Builders Scholarships, M.C. Widmaier Family Nursing Scholarship, Woolf Scholarship.

In 2007, the Community Foundation awarded 78 scholarships totaling more than $170,000 and has added three new scholarships for 2008.
