Nene expects to play Thursday

DENVER — Denver Nuggets forward Nene said today he expects to play Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks at the Pepsi Center.

Nene, who had a cancerous testicular tumor removed Jan. 14, participated in a five-on-five scrimmage today, and afterward said he expects to play five minutes against the Mavericks.

"It is time to come back. It's going to be a special day in my life," said Nene, who said he was sore and tired but otherwise feels good.
