Oops, don't forget the Children's Festival

• CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL, Northern Colorado's 27th annual Children's Festival, continues until 3 p.m. at the Island Grove Event Center, 421 N.15th Ave.,, Greeley. Booths, immunizations, car seat safety checks, book giveaways, entertainment. Sponsors include United Way, Greeley-Evans School District 6, Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment, Head Start and more.

• LANGUAGE CAFÉ, led by certified teacher and citizenship instructor Leticia Shifflet. Learn the write stuff

• CRAFTERNOONS: CALLIGRAPHY, Calligraphy means "beautiful writing", and in some cultures calligraphy is as highly revered as painting. Learn the basics of how to create a variety of attractive letter styles that can be used to create cards and invitations, decorate scrapbooks, make labels, write poetry, and more. Strike up the bands

• 57TH ANNUAL COLORADO ALL-STATE HIGH SCHOOL BANDS, 4 p.m., Monfort Hall, Union Colony Civic Center, 701 10th Ave., Greeley. 125 high school bands with guest conductors Dr. Larry Livingston and Dr. Mark Fonder. $15 adults, $10 seniors/students. Details, (970) 356-5000.

Party with Amanda

• AMANDAFEST, 4 p.m.-midnight, Bayou House, 33131 U.S. 85, Lucerne. Old-fashioned party on the bayou to support Amanda Gonzales and family. Door prizes, T-shirts, balloon artists, airbrush tattoos, face painting, cotton candy, more. Live music: Seven Sundays, Ragged Doll, i69, Open Fire. Tickets: $20 at the door.
