Vote for Tom Hamblen

I encourage residents of Evans Ward 2 to vote for Tom Hamblen as their city council representative. Hamblen is honest and hard working, and he takes the time to view issues from all sides to make informed decisions. He is a lifelong resident of Evans with vast knowledge of city government coming from many years as a city employee.

As Evans grows from a simple small town to a city facing challenges that go along with growth, Hamblen's qualifications truly make him the right man at the right time.

Vote for Tom Hamblen and help promote responsibility and honesty in Evans government.

Robert Smith, Evans

Talking points wearing thin

Let me see if I've got this right.

Anyone who wants to see the war in Iraq responsibly ended as soon as possible ... hates the country.

Anyone who wants our government to better fund programs to help the most vulnerable of our society... is a socialist.

Anyone who isn't a part of the right-wing evangelical movement ... isn't a "real" Christian. Or worse ... is godless.

Anyone who believes in global warming and wants measures taken to better protect the environment ... is gullible.

Anyone who wants to see citizens rights put before corporate rights ... is anti-capitalist.

Do I have it right? C'mon. Voters are smarter than this. These old, tired talking points are starting to hurt the conservative movement more than help because they smack of hate, fear mongering and, worst of all, nothing to offer as an alternative.
