Fire in Fort Collins on Saturday began in garage

Print Comment
A fire that damaged a house destroyed and destroyed the attached garage on Saturday originated from the engine of a van parked inside of it, authorities said on Monday.

According to a release, the fire, which occurred at 936 Deerhurst Circle in Fort Collins, began while the owner of the house was working on the van. No one was hurt in the blaze, which is being classified as "accidental in nature," the release said.

Though much of house received smoke damage, only the garage and the laundry room were directly damaged by the fire. A damage estimate for the fire is still not available, the release said.
