Eagles, Brahmas tied after two periods in Game 2

Print Comment
LOVELAND — The penalty-killing units of the Colorado Eagles and Texas Brahmas were top notch tonight, combining to stop 10 power-play opportunities during the first two periods of a scoreless tie in Game 2 of the CHL’s Northern Conference finals at the Budweiser Events Center.

Texas spent a majority of the first part of the second period with either a one- or two-man advantage, including a 5-on-3 opportunity in the period’s first 53 seconds. The Brahmas also had a breakaway scoring opportunity by Justin Kinnunen that Eagles goalkeeeper Sabastien Laplante gloved with 5:37 left. The Eagles responded and had a shot from Scott Polaski bounce off Texas goalie Brett Jaeger. The puck danced around in the crease before Jaeger covered it with 5:11 on the clock.

Jaeger, who replaced Game 1 starter David Cacciola in goal, has 22 saves. Laplante has 23.

Please see Monday’s Tribune for complete details on tonight’s game.
