Your Two Cents for April 20

Print Comment
Pedophiles are found in all walks of life

I would like to make a comment about the cartoon in Thursday's paper with the picture of the pope, and it's suggesting priests should be allowed to get married to solve the pedophile problem.

Pedophiles are unfortunately in all walks of life and do not exclude the Catholic Church. To suggest marriage would solve this problem is also to suggest all those that are single are at risk of becoming pedophiles. That is plain ignorance.

Tax procrastination is sad, illogical

I was calling about the Tribune opinion on the Tax Day about the post office.

I think it's pretty sad that everybody has to procrastinate. They have a midnight cutoff. Their check isn't going to be cashed that very same day, so why not put it in the mail that morning? Why are we blaming the post office for our own problems?

Thanks to council for Powertech resolution

I would like to extend a big thank-you to the city council for passing a resolution against the proposed uranium mine by PowerTech.

Pam Shaddock's article "Why no, why now on mine" in Thursday's Voices section was right on target. It is obvious she and the council take their job very seriously and took the time to research this project extensively before arriving at their decision.

I was wrong. Greeley really does care. I applaud and thank you, Pam Shaddock and fellow council members, for a job well done.

I agree with Steve

My message is in regard to Steve's "Crime fighters are now traffic officers." I just want to say that I completely agree with him. That seems quite apparent to us and another people.

Just want to tell him good job. I agree with what he says.

Thanks for your soccer work, Marin

I want to say thank you to Marin Shanahan for the soccer fiesta. People like Marin are making a big difference in our young population.

I hope Mayor Clark learns from Marin and instead of hiring more police officers, he develops programs to keep our youth out trouble like Marin is doing.

Good job, Marin Shanahan.

Greeley doesn't need another meatpacker

Calling in response to Sharon Dunn's article on "Chicken power," and my Two Cents comment is that about 90 percent of what most people perceive is wrong with Greeley grows out of the meatpacking industry, and it is my Two Cents comment that Greeley needs another meatpacker about like a toad needs another wart.
