Car hits building

Greeley police are still investigating a crash early Sunday morning that took out a light pole and crashed into a former car dealership in downtown Greeley.

The crash occurred about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of 8th Avenue and 5th Street. The driver, Latoya Rodriguez, 18, of Greeley sustained a leg injury, cuts and bruises when her car ran off the street, hit a light pole, then crashed into the corner of the former Champion KIA dealership at 508 8th Ave.

The collision took out a corner of the building and scattered bricks across the parking lot.

An unidentified man in the back set of the car was not seriously injured, but firefighters had to cut him out of the car.

Police, who are investigating the possibility that another car was involved, said alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
