Farr estate auction on Saturday

Auctioneers will sell off items Saturday from the estate of Greeley legend and water pioneer, W.D. Farr.

The sale will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Farr home, 1914 14th Ave.

Kreps Wiedeman Auctioneers and Real Estate Inc. will run the auction. Items expected to be auctioned off include a collection of trophies, firearms, fishing poles and furniture. Some of the hunting trophies expected at the auction include Rocky Mountain Sheep, antelopes, a moose, a grizzly bear rug and a Bengal tiger rug. Signed photo prints of Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr. and George W. Bush also will be available for sale.

Auctioneer Terry Wiedeman said that an early preview of the items will begin around 8:30 a.m., and the auction itself will start at 10:30 a.m.

"It's going to be an interesting and nice day for anyone in northern Colorado to come and buy a great piece of history," said Wiedeman. "As a longtime native (Farr) did a lot of good for Greeley and Weld County."

Farr died Aug. 13, 2007 at the age of 97.
