Woman dies in Evans accident

A 32-year-old Milliken woman died early this morning in a traffic accident at the intersection of 37th Street and 59th Avenue in Evans.

Commander Mike Parkos with the Evans Police Department identified the woman as Elizabeth Mary Perez. She was driving a 1998 white Nissan Maxima east bound on 37th Street shortly before 5:30 a.m., Parkos said. A witness told officers she saw the headlights of the car veer off the road into the ditch. When the car hit the ditch, Perez was ejected. The car continued to roll into a field.

Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the accident, Parkos said. Perez is the 16th person to die on Weld County roads this year.
