A high wind warning for northern and eastern Colorado has been posted for today, which will also see scattered snow showers, mixing with rain after noon. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 45 degrees with a north, northwest wind 28-31 mph increasing to 46-49 mph. Winds could gust as high as 70 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tonight there’s a slight chance of rain and snow showers before midnight. It will be partly cloudy, with a low around 26 degrees and a north, northwest wind 28-31 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
The weekend will see improving conditions with a high in the mid 50s Saturday and near 70 degrees by Sunday. Lows will be the mid to upper 30s.
At 6:30 a.m., most roads in the area were dry, although there were scattered showers being reported. Traffic was moving normally.
