This can be a confusing time of year, 80s and sunshine one day, 30s and snow the next. In Colorado, as we spring from winter into summer, anything is possible in between. In fact, May can include almost any type of weather, which we've already witnessed during the first week.
After a cold, wet and windy start to the month, today will mark the beginning of a dry and warmer pattern. Expect a southwest wind between 5-15 mph today, a large decrease from Friday's 60-plus mph gusts. Sunshine will return with just a few clouds and temperatures warming into the mid and upper 50s across most of Weld County. By Sunday, we'll get back to our average high with temperatures near 70 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Seventies make a comeback by early next week.
This week's storm put a dent in the bucket, but we still fall short on our year-to-date moisture average. Greeley has picked up just over 1 inch since January 1, still about 3 inches shy of the normal value.
