Greeley pastor delivers opening prayer in U.S. Senate Thursday

Print Comment
Sen. Wayne Allard, R-Colo., helped a Greeley pastor open the U.S. Senate's day with a prayer Thursday morning.

Allard invited Rev. Brian Severin of Victory Christian Fellowship church to offer the prayer Thursday morning.

Severin prayed: "I pray for each one of our Senators standing in this legislative gate, 100 of our nation's best, in whose grasp is the throat of our fate. Give each of them your wisdom amidst the confusion of our day. Help them embrace a superman's motto, bringing 'truth and justice, the American way.'"

Allard then welcomed Severin, who has been a minister for 23 years and has been in Greeley for the last six years.

Severin attended with his wife and 14 members of his congregation.
