Fox 31 Weather: Mother Nature gives gardeners warmer temps, less winds today

Print Comment
Happy Mother's Day! Sunshine, warmer temperatures and less wind are three gifts to all moms today. Expect high temperatures to hit 72 degrees in Greeley today. Southwest winds may gust up to 20 mph at times. Gardeners: Low temperatures tonight will hover around 40 degrees.

High pressure will remain entrenched across northern Colorado through Monday before a strong cold front sets its sights on Weld County. Showers are expected on Tuesday along with a 20 degree temperature drop. Afternoon showers will dot the landscape on Wednesday and Thursday as well.

Normal high temperatures in Greeley are around 70 degrees this time of May. In fact, record high temperatures are in the upper 90s by the end of the month, so it's possible to see oven-hot temperatures in May. The warmest day of May so far occurred on May 6 when the high temperature hit 80 degrees.

If you're headed into the mountains today expect sunshine and wind gusts to 40 mph; 9,000-foot highs: Around 50.
