Colorado Democratic Party convention begins second day

Print Comment
COLORADO SPRINGS — Democrats are lining up outside the World Arena in Colorado Springs for the second day of the party’s state convention.

An estimated 10,000 people are expected to attend as delegates are selected for the Democratic National Convention in August.

The event began Friday although computer glitches delayed voting for more than two hours. That was compounded when designated parking lots became full and cars parked in nearby business lots were towed.

During today’s event, U.S. Senate candidate Mark Udall will make his pitch for the party’s nomination and additional delegates will be chosen for the national convention.
