Roller derby on ESPN — and we won!

The first insane bout of the Slaughterhouse Roller Derby girls was Saturday — about 400 people cheered us on at JBS. Check back here soon for a video of bout highlights.

The two Slaughterhouse teams — the Marshals of Mayhem (the team I’m on) and the Renegade Brigade — played each other, with the Marshals pulling out a victory despite a tough second-half comeback by the Brigade. I was so excited I almost puked. I skated in my first bout ...and I don’t even care that I spent most of the time on my butt.

We had a killer first-bout crowd by any standards, which will only get bigger as word spreads that there’s something cool to do in Greeley on select Saturday nights.
