Keep prayer at home, not in the schools
I'm glad the Senate had the common sense to kill Scott Renfroe's attempt to bring prayer in school. Being a typical conservative Republican, he tried to disguise its wording. He wasted valuable Senate time promoting his theocratic agenda. Isn't that the problem we have in Iraq and Afghanistan? I don't want to see shrines, altars and prayer rugs in public schools. It creates unnecessary tension. Pray before you come to school, Scott.
Government reserves too many rights
The editor's article "Where are parents' rights?" brings to mind that we are losing our choices and that the country is becoming under a dictatorship, which was not the reason it was founded for.
Take steps to improve park's accessibility
For the powers that be, would be it possible to put steps, maybe of railroad ties, on the west side of the main city park in Windsor? It is very hard for some people to get into the park from the west side. I can't. I live across the street and have seen people struggle to get up the hill.
Wow! The mayor misses the point
This little comment about art ... in the May 14 paper that our mayor is not "wowed" by the report that was given to the city council to hire new police officers. If he's not "wowed," let's do a recall and send him back to guarding kindergartens.
Legal vs. illegal -- there is a difference
I agree Greeley should support the new legal immigrants. However, a very clear distinction needs to be made between legal immigrants and illegal aliens. Illegals need to be tracked down and deported.
