Fox weather for June 12

Print Comment
We've transitioned from the warmest day of the year on Tuesday back to cooler than normal temperatures today. Expect high temperatures only in the low 70s throughout the Greeley area today under a partly cloudy sky. Don't be surprised if you get hit by an isolated shower or thunderstorm this afternoon -- although the chances are pretty slim. Chinook winds out of the west may once again gust to 30 mph. Tonight, expect overnight lows in the mid-40s under a partly cloudy sky.

Normal high temperatures this time of June are around 80 degrees. June can be a hot month with 100-degree days not out of the question. The thermometer has hit 100 or hotter by the end of June, according to weather records.

Our weather transition continues into this weekend; 80s and sunshine make a triumphant return Friday through Sunday. Don't forget about Father's Day this Sunday. If you are looking for something to do this weekend, why not hit the slopes and go skiing? That's right, skiing in June. After the storms last week dropped several inches of snows in the mountains, Aspen Mountain has decided to reopen its resort for this weekend. The average snow depth is around 3 feet and the Ajax Express lift will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. High temperatures should be in the 60s at most ski areas this weekend.
